This research is motivated by the scarcity of Bahan Ajar Bahasa Indonesia Untuk Penutur Asing (BIPA), especially cultural-charged teaching materials. Therefore, the development of BIPA teaching materials is needed. The problems examined in this study are (1) how the process of developing BIPA teaching materials containing Batak culture for beginner-level foreign speakers, (2) how the final results of the development of BIPA-charged Batak culture materials for beginner-level foreign speakers, (3) how the materials are feasible BIPA teaching contains Batak culture for beginner-level foreign speakers. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) approach which is carried out in five stages, namely: (1) preliminary survey, (2) initial prototype development, (3) product design, (4) product validation, (5) product revision and improvement. This study uses two data collection techniques, namely observation and interviews to obtain data on the needs of teaching material development and assessment of teaching material prototypes. The results of this study are as follows. First, the development of BIPA teaching materials with Batak culture for beginner-level foreign speakers is carried out in five stages, namely: (1) a preliminary survey with techniques for analyzing existing teaching materials, (2) initial prototype development, (3) product design, (4) product validation, and (5) product revision and improvement. Second, the prototype of teaching material is developed with three parts including (a) physical form, (b) book cover, (c) content / material content. Third, the evaluation from experts which includes the graphic aspect gets 89.29%. In the aspect of content/material obtained 78.57%. In the presentation aspect, it gets 83.33%. Aspects of language and readability, obtain 100.00%.

This research is focused on the advantage of using daily journal writing in teaching recount texts for the second grade students at MTs Khoirotul Islamiyah Pematangsiantar. The problem of this research are: 1) How is the implementation of daily journal writing in teaching recount text for the second grade students at MTs Khoirotul Islamiyah Pematangsiantar? ; 2) What are the advantages of daily journal writing in teaching recount text for the second grade students at MTs Khoirotul Islamiyah Pematangsiantar?. The objective of this study are: 1) To describe the implementation of daily journal writing to teach recount text for second grade at MTs Khoirotul Islamiyah Pematangsiantar; 2) To know what are the advantages of daily journal writing in teaching recount text of second grade at MTs Khoirotul Islamiyah Pematangsiantar. From the data analysis it can be concluded that : 1) Daily journal writing makes the students motivated and interested in making recount text; 2) Using daily journal writing in teaching recount text have many advantages for the teacher and students in learning activities, it is known from the result of obsevation in the classroom, questionnaire, and interview to the English teacher.

Indonesian has always been ignored as a source of Noun Incorporation. This happens because of the agglutinative nature of Indonesian. This means that many words in Indonesian are formed by combining several morphemes. Even so, it is possible that in fact a lot of Noun Incorporation (IN) processes occur in Indonesian. This research uses Mithun and Rosen's approach in searching for Incorporation of Nouns in Indonesian. The results of this study reveal that the incorporation of nouns in Indonesian even though they are not productive, still occurs at level I and II. The incorporation of nouns of Mithun's ideas and also surprisingly (needs further investigation) occurs in two types of Rosen's ideas, namely Compounding Nominal Incorporation and Nominal Incorporation. Classifier. This research also reveals that many incorporation of nouns in Indonesian are idiomatic and according to (Mithun, 1986) this is common in several languages.
