Performance of any search engine relies heavily on its Web crawler. Web crawlers are the programs that get webpages from the Web by following hyperlinks. These webpages are indexed by a search engine and can be retrieved by a user query. In the area of Web crawling, we still lack an exhaustive study that covers all crawling techniques. This study follows the guidelines of systematic literature review and applies it to the field of Web crawling. We used the standard procedure of carrying out a systematic literature review on 248 studies from a total of 1488 articles published in 12 leading journals and other premier conferences and workshops. Existing literature about the Web crawler is classified into different key subareas. Each subarea is further divided according to the techniques being used. We analyzed the distribution of various articles using multiple criteria and depicted conclusions. Various studies that use open source Web crawlers are also reported. We have highlighted future areas of research. We call for an increased awareness in various fields of the Web crawler and identify how techniques from other domains can be used for crawling the Web. Limitations and recommendations for future are also discussed. The majority of educational institutes and training centers are using some kinds of e-Learning via online platform i.e. Course Management System (CMS), Learning Contents Management System (LCMS). These platforms are somehow fixed to the econtents of the tutor and teacher, while there are huge Open Educational Resources (OERs) available in the Web and ready for using and sharing. This paper proposes a Recommender System (RS) to recommend automatically OERs to a CMS after crawling them from Web to solve the students "Information Overload" problem arising from searching Web resources. This paper provides background of CMS -LCMS and RS as well as some examples. In addition, it discusses the suitability of main RS approaches to recommend digital resources from Web to support students' needs. Finally, it presents a new proposal of RS algorithm which could automatically recommend suitable digital learning resources to a student in his active course.

Although ICTs have strengthened educational processes, there are still some challenges on flexibility and convergence, among others. In this article, we propose a ubiquitous learning model (u-learning) that can have a positive impact on the teaching/ learning process since it considers video as an important element which can be displayed on any screen at any time and place. Besides indicating the elements making part of the model, alternatives of implementation, uses of video and experimentation with a cloud supported video platform are shown here. The results demonstrate an optimal deployment of the video at different devices when using a multi-screen video platform connected to the Internet, and show this model as a good reference to projects an u-learning service.Keywords: u-learning; ubiquitous computing; cloud computing; multi-screen TV; TV/video platforms everywhere.Modelo de aprendizaje ubicuo basado en plataformas de televisión multipantalla (uLMTV) ResumenLas TIC han potencializado los procesos educativos, pero aún hay desafíos de flexibilidad, convergencia, entre otros. Este artículo propone un modelo de aprendizaje ubicuo (u-learning) que puede impactar positivamente al proceso de enseñanza/aprendizaje, ya que contempla el video como un elemento importante, que se puede desplegar en cualquier pantalla, en cualquier momento y lugar. Además de indicar los elementos que intervienen en el modelo, se presentan alternativas de implementación, usos del video, y una experimentación con una plataforma de video basada en la nube. Los resultados demuestran un despliegue óptimo del video en diferentes dispositivos cuando se utiliza una plataforma de video multi-pantalla conectada a Internet, y muestran este modelo como una buena referencia para proyectar un servicio de u-learning.Palabras clave: aprendizaje ubicuo; computación ubicua; computación en la nube; TV multipantalla; plataformas TV/video en todas partes.
