AIM: Assessment of various fertilizers type effects on rice productivity in Niger. Study Design: The experiment was laid by using a complete randomized block design with different types of fertilizers and was replicated four times. Place and Duration of Study: The field experiment was conducted during the dry and wet season of 2020 on the irrigated perimeter of Toula (Niger). Methodology: The experiment was performed with four treatments in complete randomized blocks. The treatments applied are: T1=Bokashi, T2=Compost, T3=Biochar and T4=NPK-Urea. The monitored parameters were the rice plant development cycle and agronomic characteristics. Observations of the crop evolution during the experimentation were recorded at regular intervals. The significance of treatment impact was examined by the statistical test. Results: The results showed that bio-fertilizers had significant effects on 1000 grain weight and the length of the vegetative cycle. As for the chemical treatments, the effects were significant on most of the rice growth parameters (height, number of grains per panicle, number of tillers per rice plant) as well as on paddy and feed biomass yield. These results also showed a positive correlation between rice growth parameters and yield irrespective of the type of treatment.

The presented work is conducted at research farm for the vegetable plant, Department of Horticulture and Landscape Design, Agriculture and Forestry college, University. of Mosul, Throughout the autumn growing season 2018/2019, the major aim of this work is to determining the correlation as well as the path coefficient analysis in seven genotypes of garlic which were (Sinjari, Mankyshi, Iranian, Bakistani, lacal va., Kristal and Nader) collected from different origin and local market. The resulted indicated that the trait's mean squares have been highly considerable with regard to all traits indicating wide genetic variability between genotypes. The genotype local va. was best in leaf length, head diameter of height and head weight, also the number of leaves for each one of the plant while genotype Kristal gave a higher value in total yield ha-1 and biological yield. The result indicated significant and positive genotypic and phenotypic association between leaf length and the total yield, biological yield, T.S.S (Total soluble solid), weight, length and clove diameter showed negative correlation genotypic and phenotypic significantly with head length and number of cloves/head, while leaf's length through number of leaves plant-1, head diameter, clove's weight, and total yield showed maximum positive direct effects on total bulb yield. Clove diameter viz leaf length, biological yield, head weight, T.S.S, head diameter, number of cloves/head, clove weight, as well as clove length showed maximum indirect effect on the total yield per hectare.

Abstract. Kendarini N, Aisyah SI, Maharijaya A, Sobir. 2022. Photoperiod effect on vegetative growth and bulbing initiation of four garlic genotypes. Biodiversitas 23: 4716-4723. The main factors influencing garlic growth and development were genetics, photoperiod, and temperature. Low temperature and short photoperiod were required for initial growth, followed by a long photoperiod and high temperature for bulbing and bolting. The study was conducted to evaluate the response of garlic genotypes to photoperiod on the vegetative growth and bulbing initiation, and physiological traits (C/N ratio, GA, and total chlorophyll content). Four garlic genotypes used in this experiment consisted of two Chinese garlic genotypes (hardneck and softneck) and two local garlic cultivars (Sangga Sembalun and Tawangmangu Baru). The garlic plants were subjected to the treatment of short photoperiod (control) and long photoperiod (night break and extension methods). The results showed that the Chinese hardneck and softneck had plant vegetative growth with a higher vigor than Sangga Sembalun and Tawangmangu Baru in all photoperiod treatments. Sangga Sembalun and Tawangmangu Baru had bulbing index below 0.3 in all photoperiods. The Chinese hardneck and softneck genotypes had bulbing index greater than 0.5 in all photoperiod treatments, except the hardneck in the night break treatment. The bulbing initiation in Chinese garlic genotypes was delayed in long photoperiod treatments. High temperature during the experiment affected bulbing initiation in long photoperiod treatment. The garlic genotypes had different responses to photoperiod treatments in C/N ratio, GA, and total chlorophyll content. The vegetative growth increased under extension treatment, and night break accelerated bulb formation. Long photoperiod increased C content and C/N ratio in the leaves while it decreased N content and photosynthetic pigment content. The late maturity time (Chinese hardneck and Chinese softneck) depended on long photoperiods for the bulbing formation. In contrast, local garlic cultivars with the early and mid-season types (Sangga Sembalun and Tawangmangu Baru) were insensitive to photoperiod.
