Cooling Performance Analysis of the Lab-Scale Hybrid Oyster Refrigeration System

Abstract: Compared with the waste-to-heat and electricity-based hybrid refrigeration system, the innovative lab-scale refrigeration system integrated with the DC and AC cooling units that able to use solar and electricity as energy resources. Previous studies found that temperature control and uniform temperature distribution in refrigeration systems are both critical factors reducing vibrio growth on raw oysters and saving energy consumption. Therefore, this refrigeration system also equipped a specially designed divid… Show more

“…One-way analysis of variance and Tukey multiple comparison test determined the significant differences in the group and between the groups. The P-value less than 0.05 was considered as significant difference and asterisks (* p < 0.05, ** p < 0.005, *** p < 0.0001) indicate the lower and higher P-values that simply reflects the degree of data compatibility with the test hypothesis [ 34 , 35 ]. The gels spots were analyzed by PDQuest software, Bio-Rad, and the phylogenetic tree was constructed by Phylogeny.fr (accessed on 4 November 2020, from ).…”

“…Four papers refer to the classification of manufacturing and industrial processes. Qian et al [5] investigated a hybrid refrigeration system, with alternating and continuous currents, for food-handling purposes. Particularly, the authors explored the case study of oyster refrigeration.…”

“…Solar-powered refrigeration systems have also been investigated to determine the various parameters (for example, time of day and cooling load) influencing system performance (e.g., energy consumption and power production on solar panels). To that end, collecting and utilizing solar energy to provide a portion of power for hybrid refrigeration systems during fish storing processes on bays and estuaries may play a critical role in reducing fuel and energy consumption from the cooling system [21]. Figure 1 depicts solar panels installed on the roof of a cold storage facility.…”
