Controllable Synthesis of Ni/Co-TCPP MOFs with Different Morphologies and Their Application in Electrochemical Detection of Glucose

Abstract: In this work, a series of Ni/Co-TCPP (tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)phosphonium porphyrin) MOFs (metalloporphyrinic metxalorganic framework) were controllably synthesized by adjusting the ratio of Ni/Co and solvent volume. The results showed that the morphologies of sheet-like, film-like, flower-like and rod-like morphologies of Ni/Co-TCPP MOFs were successfully synthesized. The obtained Ni/Co-TCPP MOFs-1 were used as electrochemical sensors for glucose detection. The sensor showed a high sensitivity of 2.8 mA mM −… Show more

“…After the modification of Co-TCPP, the peak belonging to O–CO in the carboxylic acids disappears and the peak belonging to CO still remains in the C 1s spectra, indicating the occurrence of esterification. From the O 1s spectra shown in Figure f, the oxygen-containing functional groups of LDH and Co-TCPP are both observed in the spectra of Co-TCPP@LDH, indicating that two components are successfully coupled …”

“…In addition, they used the sensor to determine glucose in beverages and obtained a high yield. Another bimetallic Ni/Co-based MOF was applied for glucose identification by Li and co-authors [69]. They varied the shape of the Ni/Co-MOF by adjusting the content of the precursor and obtained three different forms: flower, rod, film, and sheet-like.…”

“…Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have been famous in electrochemical detection [1–4] of various compounds due to the stable three‐dimension (3D) dispersion of catalysts, porous structure for electrolyte immersion and large specific area with multiple active sites. However, ordinary MOFs usually show low conductivity, as most organic ligands contain ‐COO‐ linker, whose large electronegativity demands high potential for electron pass through, leading to a low overlap between oxygen and the d‐orbital of the metal, which finally results in rather low conductivity (10 −10 S/cm) [5–7] .…”
