Abstract: RESUMO As espécies de protozoários patogênicos de veiculação hídrica Giardia spp. e Cryptosporidium spp. foram responsáveis por cerca 90% dos surtos de gastroenterite ocorridos nos últimos 25 anos, em vários países.
