Control of the Two-Spotted Spider Mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch on Kidney Bean and Pea Plants

Abstract: The effect of the two predatory mite species Phytosiulus persimilis Athias-Henriot and Typhlodromips swirskii (AthiasHenriot), fungal entomopathogen, Beuvaria bassiana and the biochemical compound Abamectin (Vapcomic) were investigated against the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch on kidney bean (Paulista) and sugar snap pea (Snow wind) in a greenhouse at Behaira governorate during 2013 season. The average number of spider mite population was significantly different among the different treatmen… Show more

“…(Elbeaino et al, 2015;Patil and Kumar, 2015). One can assume that PaEV might also be a mitetransmitted virus as there are various mite species reported on pea (Annells and Ridsdill-Smith, 1994;Morishita and Takafuji, 1999;Takafuji and Morishita, 2001;Abdallah et al, 2014). The number of segments of our PaEV isolate are unknown as the virus full genome could not be recovered due to its low number of reads from the pools.…”

“…The last pests cause numerous damage in both quantity and quality for crop directly by plant juice loosen or indirectly by plant disease transmitting (Abdel-Salam et al 1982). Also, more than 200 host plant species were infested by these pests (Abdallah et al, 2014). A number of vegetable crops such as tomato, squash, eggplant, cucumber was also subject to Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae) infestations during summer plantation causing numerous injuries and yield losses (Kherebe et al 2015).…”
