Considerações sobre a distribuição e morfologia de Tovomita calophyllophylla García-Villacorta & Hammel (Clusiaceae) no Brasil

Abstract

Considerations on the distribution and morphology of Tovomita calophyllophylla García-Villacorta & Hammel (Clusiaceae) in Brazil). In the last years taxonomic reviews and local floras about the Clusiaceae family have exponentially advanced the taxonomic knowledge of the group. As a result of these recent discoveries, several new species and the extension of the distribution range of taxa have been published. Here, we provide the first field photos of the flowers and fruits, as well as the first description of the staminate flowers of Tovomita calophyllophylla García-Villacorta & Hammel. Moreover, we expanded the species geographic range for the Center-west region of Brazil. Description, comments on the distribution and taxonomy, and an identification key of Tovomita species occurring in the Center-west region are provided.
