Conservation Carbon Price Estimation of a/R CDM Activity Using Forest Economic Value Approach in Sekaroh Protection Forest, East Lombok

Abstract: Currently, incentive payment of carbon mechanism has not yet provided significant economic benefit for community who live in the surrounding forest area as the carbon price is relatively low. Consequently, potential carbon owners are likely to invest conserved carbon biomass into other products that give more profitable economic value. This paper discusses the estimation of feasible carbon selling price of Sekaroh Protection Forest based on analysis of the forest economic value approach. This study was conduct… Show more

“…The ability of forests to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere has led to the development of a carbon market where the value of environmental services can be converted into carbon selling value. To determine the compensation for forests, the price of carbon is calculated based on the valuation value of forest areas (Fauzi & Anwar Siregar, 2019). According to the analysis of sequestration, the economic valuation of lambusango forests is the highest compared to mangrove forests and pine forests (Table 5).…”

“…The benefit of estimated carbon stocks was calculated based on the monetary values of carbon stock per ton, as explained by the OECD (2021) and Fauzi and Siregar (2019). The price used was based on the Compliance Market with values of US$ 13.2/ton CO 2eq (Agung 2016).…”
