Conductivity investigation of Ca V2O6

Abstract: An investigation was made of conductivity and EPR spectra of CaV2O6 crystals. It is shown that a correlation exists between conductivity and number of the V4+ ions. There is no direct overlap between the ground states of the extra electrons on the neighbouring V atoms. The dependence of σ in CaV2O6 on temperature and frequency is in good agreement with the theory of conductivity assuming thermally activated hopping between the localized states.
