This study aims not only to verify ‘the experiential learning–entrepreneurial mindset relationship’, but also to test which entrepreneurial characteristics (i.e., innovativeness, risk-taking propensity, need for achievement, and proactiveness) moderate ‘the experiential learning–entrepreneurial mindset relationship’. The data were collected from 313 undergraduate students who have already taken the entrepreneurship course and analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. The results showed the positive relationships between experiential learning and elaboration mindset, and between experiential learning and implementing mindset. However, need for achievement and proactiveness were found to moderate ‘the experiential learning–entrepreneurial mindset relationship’, whereas innovativeness and risk-taking propensity did not moderate that relationship. This study provides theoretical implications in extending the literature of experiential learning theory, Dweck’s implicit theory of intelligence, and entrepreneurial characteristics. Exploring Personal and Contextual Variables of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor through the Rasch Mathematical Model

This article studies the variables of entrepreneurship at the regional (countries) level proposed by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) in its periodic global reports. This response to the suggestions and concerns of various authors is related to the need to analyze the theoretical foundation of the variables used by GEM. The validity and reliability of GEM data for the scientific study of entrepreneurship are also analyzed. Finally, the potential of GEM data to manage entrepreneurship variables at the country level is studied. Data from the GEM global report and the fifty countries for which data are available on all variables are used in the study. The methodology used is the Rasch mathematical model, a valuable alternative to the Classical Theory of the Test. The results confirm the theoretical validity of GEM data, its validity and reliability for the development of scientific studies, and its potential for managing entrepreneurship variables at the country level. Both the methodology used and the conclusions obtained constitute novel contributions to this field.

Community renewable energy has been acknowledged as a necessary step in the transition toward a sustainable energy system. It can contribute to the achievement of energy autonomy by communities. In rural settings, it can be a driver of sustainable rural development. And it can be seen as a specific contribution to circular economy from the energy sector. The willingness to invest in community renewable energy has received some attention in previous research but needs further investigation at the local rural scale through quantitative approaches. Based on a survey in a small Galician village, this study contributes to the filling of this gap. The willingness to invest of its inhabitants is analyzed in relation to alternative financial, sociodemographic and sociopsychological features. Survey results show the heterogeneity of individual attitudes and concerns that condition the willingness to invest in rural community renewable energy and the different perceptions of risk and return related to these projects. Cluster analysis allows identifying four different investor profiles (skeptics, financial illiterate, enthusiasts, yield investors). These should be accounted for by project promoters and policymakers when designing incentives and strategies to foster community renewable energy in rural settings.
