Comparing the efficacy of nano crystalline silver dressing versus betadine dressing in management of diabetic foot ulcer

Abstract: Background: The incidence of diabetes and its complications is rising as a result of the lifestyle changes. The foot is most frequent site for complication in patients with diabetes. Dressings have a vital part to play in the management of wounds. The ideal antiseptic is one that is lethal to all forms of bacteria, has no deleterious effect on healing tissues, delineates the operative areas, easily applied and has wide spectrum of activity and absence of acquired bacterial resistance. Nanotechnology makes it p… Show more

“…It reduces costs of replacing the dressing as well as the use of painkillers. Use it alone [ 35 ] 2013 Sri Lanka General dressings The experimental group of nano-silver gel dressing performed significantly better than the conventional dressing group in terms of pain reduction, accessory reduction, and hospitalization time. Compared with normal dressings, using nano-silver dressing reduces the pain, the number of replacement dressing is reduced, the treatment rate is increased, and the length of hospitalization is also shortened.…”

“…Besides, the cure rate is higher than that of skim cotton and Vaseline, and nano-silver dressings have a faster healing time, better antibacterial performance, and reduces pain to some extent. [33][34][35][36] However, there are certain limitations to the use of nano-silver ions. The nano product of silver ions is nano-silver.…”
