Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have become the main priority across the globe due to their significant role in economic growth and propensity. However, in particular, it is not yet known how governments can achieve SDGs through non-profit organisations (NPOs) by providing financial and non-financial incentives. The present study included 263 Pakistan NPOs in a primary survey using a questionnaire. The results obtained from the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) highlight that: (i) government incentives do not directly influence community development; (ii) The government non-financial incentives have a significant direct effect on environmental activities to reduce pollution, energy consumption and waste; (iii) Resource management fully mediates the paths between government incentives and community development while partially mediates environmental activities; and finally, (iv) resource management has a favourable influence both on the goals of community development and environmental activities. This research paper contributes to the knowledge in that government incentives do not have a direct influence on social development, but has an indirect influence through efficient management. Recommendations are that government and public bodies need to support NPOs to engage actively in philanthropic activities. Similarly, NPOs should efficiently utilize and manage the resources to benefit the maximum number of poor and needy individuals.

Kertayasa Tourism Village is one of the leading tourism villages in the Pangandaran Districts, West Java Province. It is proven by having won various awards, one of which is the champion of the advanced tourism village category in the 2019 Nusantara Tourism Village Competition. The community’s role in developing the village’s potential with sustainable tourism is one of the keys to the tourism village’s success. This study aims to identify a general description of Kertayasa Village development as a tourism village, analyze the development concept of community-based tourism, and analyze the relationship between the development concept with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research method used is a qualitative approach with case study design and interactive model analysis techniques. The key informants in this study were selected using purposive sampling techniques, including the elements of the Kertayasa Village apparatus, community leaders, and tourism practitioners. The results showed the criteria for developing Kertayasa Tourism Village based on attractions, amenities, accessibility, and ancillary services. The development pattern is a tourist attractions cluster model (Green Canyon), which stimulates the surrounding villages’ development. The development’s characteristic is bottom-up with community empowerment’s central issue in environment, economy, and social-cultural to supports SDGs.

Located in one of the famous natural and cultural tourist destinations of northern Malaysia, Penang Hill serves as an ideal destination for both local and international tourists. The objective of this study was to understand and explore key stakeholders perspectives to enhance management for the aim of conservation, economic development, and recreation in Penang Hill. Data was collected from three key stakeholders of Penang Hill using semi-structured in-depth interviews. Stakeholders showed robust interests in environmental protection , cultural conservation, economic activities, awareness, and empowerment . This paper concludes by stating that Penang Hill is under strong management, and stakeholders are continuously engaged in the destination. The management authority collaborates with the key stakeholders of Penang Hill and incorporates their interests and viewpoint to ensure the ecotourism process goes smoothly and Penang Hill becomes one of the top ecotourism destinations.
