Combined Framework with Heuristic Programming and Rule-Based Strategies for Scheduling and Real Time Operation in Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Abstract: This paper proposes a flexible framework for scheduling and real time operation of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS). The methodology applies a multi-objective evolutionary particle swarm optimization algorithm (EPSO) for electric vehicles (EVs) scheduling based on a day-ahead scenario. Then, real time operation is managed based on a rule-based (RB) approach. Two types of consumer were considered: EV owners with a day-ahead request for charging (scheduled consumers, SCh) and non-scheduling users (NSCh)… Show more

“…In these equations, P i and Q i are the real and imaginary power at the ith bus, V i and 𝛿 i are the amplitude and voltage angles at the ith bus, Y i j and 𝜃 i j , respectively, and the amplitude angle between the i-bus and the j-bus. Also, the injection of real and imaginary power in each bus of the network is considered as Equations ( 29) and (30):…”

“…In [28], the constraints of the problem are losses, voltage and power in the bus bars and the number of vehicles in the stations. The cost of charging electric vehicles at charging stations can be high [29][30][31]. Total cost includes loss cost, operating cost, maintenance cost and network loss cost.…”

“…The key objectives of the charging strategy are: (i) providing the BEV user the required final state of charge (SOC) when he/she needs to use the vehicle; (ii) minimizing the charging cost; and (iii) minimizing the network overload or even maximizing the provision of ancillary services. In this framework, Oliveira Farias et al [16] proposed a combined framework for day-ahead scheduling and real time rule-based operation.…”

“…De modo a criar a população de solicitações de recargas a serem atendidas pela estação, foram utilizados os dados do histograma em (Farias et al, 2021), baseados em um projeto envolvendo VEs no Reino Unido (Cross, 2016). Dado que são escassos os dados a respeito do uso de VEs no Brasil, neste estudo, os dados deste último projeto são utilizados como referência para criação da população do estudo de caso.…”
