“…[137][138][139][140] Screening of PA series viz. PA, 2,3-dipicolinic acid and 2,6dipicolinic acid was reported in oxidation of 2butanol [138] A variation of all the mentioned promoters was represented by Sar et al [141] Ghosh et al reported Phen and Bpy promoted oxidation reaction by permanganate in which Phen has shown highest accelerating capacity. [142] Bpy was found very much efficient promoter in oxidation of butanal by bivalent copper and chromium(VI) oxidation of acetaldehyde.…”

“…But, there was a problem to use water to make the reaction medium homogeneous due to the immiscibility of hydrophobic organic substances with water. Here also surfactants have solved the problem with its emulsifying ability increasing the solubility of organic substances in water …”

“…Surfactants also can enhance organic oxidation reaction rates. In organic synthetic reactions acid catalysed oxidation of alcohols, aldehydes by Cr(VI), Ce(IV), V(V) like conventional metal oxidising agents are very important industrially. These important reactions can be catalysed enhancing reaction rates many fold and product percentage can be improved at room temperature in aquous medium in presence of surfactants e. g. SDS, CPC, TX‐100 etc.…”

“…Oxidation is key reaction in organic synthesis and will likely play a significant role in the development of value added chemicals from biomass, which is a very much targeted area of scientists worldwide [1]. Among numerous oxidants chromium(VI) has frequently been employed as an oxidant in both preparative and analytical chemistry, where chromic acid [2][3][4][5][6][7][8], aqueous dichromate [9], chromyl chloride [10], chromyl acetate [11] and ditertiary butyl chromate [12] are important chromium(VI) compounds used in the oxidation of a wide variety of organic and inorganic substrates in solution. Kinetic studies of interaction of Cr(VI) with the organic acids appear to be important and thus have been intensively investigated.…”
