Color Shade Heritability of Peach Flesh

Abstract: Nowadays, despite of being a typically temperate fruit crop, peach is found in subtropical and even tropical altitude zones, due to breeding efforts. Genetic knowledge and phenotypic and environmental parameters directly or indirectly influence the characters of economic importance in peach, and they are of great importance for breeding programs orientation. The aim of this study was to estimate heritability of a color shade character of peach flesh, measured by the Hue angle, chroma and lightness to evaluate … Show more

“…The calculated hue angle was 72.74 ± 0.62° while chroma obtained a value of 59.67 ± 1.15. These values correspond with the characteristic bright color of orangey whole eggs (Dini et al., 2019). As aforementioned, this color is attributed to fat‐soluble carotenoids presented in egg yolk.…”

“…Same conditions that gave the highest values for lightness. The decrease range of values represented for hue angle means an orange to red tendency (Dini et al., 2019). Subsequently, when RCF and time increase, plasma tend to be more reddish and less bright.…”

“…As can be seen, the colour parameters of CAR-CHIOS complexes are different and depend on the methods of complexes preparation. As follows from the ratio a */ b * and Hue angle, the colours of LF5 and S6 complexes are shifted to orange-red-orange tones, and the colour of KD3 is more orange-yellow [ 37 ]. During four months of storage the changes of colour parameters of the complexes are significant.…”
