Colloidal catalysts on the base of iron(3+) oxides for oxidative treatment of biomass

Abstract: The analysis of the chemical nature of wood waste processing by fungus and bacteria was the starting point for innovative production of a new, relatively simple, colloidal catalytic system based on iron (III) oxides, combined with environmentally friendly oxidants - hydrogen peroxide and/or atmospheric oxygen. Colloidal iron(III) oxides, obtained by hydrolysis of Fe(III) salts in water in the presence of surfactants, catalyze the oxidative destruction of lignocellulosic biomass under atmospheric pressure, at a… Show more

“…When analyzing the distribution of oxygen in the structure of coal, several forms are found: O phenolic (phenolic hydroxyls), О СООН (carboxyl groups), О С=О (carbonyl oxygen), О ОМе (methoxy group -OCH 3 ), etc. [24][25][26] Studies of the briquettes physical parameters and the SEM data show that the thickness of the coal adsorption layer and the cohesion of the binder in thin layers play an important role in the formation of the structure and strength of the briquette. According to the SEM data, it can be assumed that at the optimum thickness of the film layer, the maximum manifestation of capillary forces and an increase in the adhesive interaction between the particles and the binder take place.…”
