Mangrove ecotourism development with an institutional approach aims to carry out management by uniting relevant institutions especially the community, government, and other stakeholders. Institutional capacity plays an important role in the development of potential-based areas. Therefore, this study aims to determine institutional capacity both organizational and individual capacity in the mangrove ecotourism development in the Lembar village of Lombok Barat Regency. The research method was carried out through a qualitative research approach with the determination of informants based on purposive sampling techniques. The results showed that the capacity of mangrove ecosystem management for the mangrove ecotourism development in the Lembar village area of West Lombok Regency at the level of community, individual resource managers and institutional was categorized as low. The dominant institutional capacity in the mangrove ecotourism development were the Marine and Fisheries Department of West Lombok Regency. This shows that good synergy has not yet been formed between institutions and communities so that the mangrove ecotourism development is unsustainable and temporal. Therefore, a joint commitment is needed in increasing the strengthening of institutional capacity sustainably so that there is good synergy between the government, the government and the private sector, the government and the community, and between other stakeholders.

Community participation to reduce and avoid the risk of disasters is important by increasing public awareness and capacity. This study aims to describe the participation of communities and governments on the coast in reducing the risk of disaster in Lambu District, Bima Regency. The method used in this research is qualitative research method. The method of determining informants, the way of determining informants in this study is by purposive sampling. Data collection method is done through observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The result of the research, namely (a) mangrove tree planting and greening around the beach is one of the efforts of the Local Government in NTB, especially in Nggelu Village (b) legal counseling to the people of Nggelu Village, providing knowledge to local fishermen about the legislation related to marine and fishery. The advice in the research is that the coastal communities of Nggelu Village to better maintain the coastal environment by not littering and maintaining the sustainability of mangrove forests and not cutting them down.Abstrak: Partisipasi masyarakat untuk mengurangi dan menghindari resiko bencana penting dilakukan dengan cara meningkatkan kesadaran dan kapasitas masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan partisipasi masyarakat dan pemerintah di pesisir dalam mengurangi resiko bencana di Kecamatan Lambu Kabupaten Bima. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Metode penentuan informan, cara penentuan informan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian yaitu (a) penanaman pohon mangrove dan penghijauan di sekitar pantai merupakan salah satu upaya Pemerintah Daerah di NTB khususnya yang terjadi di Desa Nggelu (b) penyuluhan hukum terhadap masyarakat Desa Nggelu, memberikan pengetahuan terhadap para nelayan setempat tentang peraturan perundang-undagan yang berkaitan dengan kelautan dan perikanan. Adapun saran dalam penelitian yaitu masyarakat wilayah pesisir pantai Desa Nggelu agar lebih menjaga lingkungan pesisir dengan tidak membuang sampah sembarangan dan menjaga kelestarian hutan bakau (mangrove) degan tidak menebangnya.

The mangrove ecosystem holds a lot of potentials to be utilized by local communities in the Riau Coastline. Therefore, this study was carried out to assess the biodiversity of flora and fauna in the Riau Coastline mangrove ecosystem and its impacts on local communities. The transect was performed to identify soil conditions, distribution, and the dominance of flora species, while field observations and interviews with residents were conducted to determine the presence of fauna and discover the ecosystem’s benefit to the local community's economy. Based on the results, Rhizophora mucronata and Rhizophora apiculata has the highest relative dominance (RDC) and important value index in all observed stations. On the other hand, the fish/water biota species has the highest diversity and have economic that mostly serve as a catch for local fishermen. Ecotourism is also encouraged to boost the community's economy and aid ecological learning for sustainability purposes. The mangrove ecosystem's existence remains sustainable because fisheries are the main commodity, however, logging is less desirable as a source of income.
