Co Nanoparticles Induced Resistive Switching and Magnetism for the Electrochemically Deposited Polypyrrole Composite Films

Abstract: The resistive switching behavior of Co-nanoparticle-dispersed polypyrrole (PPy) composite films is studied. A novel design method for resistive random access memory (ReRAM) is proposed. The conducting polymer films with metal nanocrystal (NC)-dispersed carbon chains induce the spontaneous oxidization of the conducting polymer at the surface. The resistive switching behavior is achieved by an electric field controlling the oxygen ion mobility between the metal electrode and the conducting polymer film to realiz… Show more

“…The conduction behavior of the LRS is not Ohmic conduction, proving the homogenously distributed Fig. 6 The I-V plots of the prepared HfO x samples in log-log scale J Mater Sci: Mater Electron filaments rather than a confined filamentary effect in the film [21]. This may explains the scattered distribution of switching voltages for the 400°C and the 550°C annealed samples.…”

“…In this respect, nanoparticles (NPs) constitute a model system as they not only improve mechanical properties, 37 but also may provide enhanced functionalities such as novel magnetotransport phenomena 38 or optoelectronic capabilities, 39,40 and they could serve as novel magnetic tunnel junctions 41,42 or memory devices. 43 Here we investigate the local mechanical control of the surface electrical properties of a heterostructure consisting of a manganite lm with magnetic FeO x NPs. The AFM tip is used to generate a local stress by rubbing the sample surface, and the resulting changes in local conductivity and electrical surface potential are subsequently measured by conductive AFM (C-AFM) and Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM), respectively.…”

“…Thermal conductivity increased in nickel doped polypyrrole composites [13]. Incorporation of cobalt in polypyrrole exhibited resistive switching and magnetism [14] and showed utility in the application of electromagnetic wave absorption [15]. Of the three prominent ferromagnetic metals, cobalt has always been considered to be special as it has high saturation magnetization and Curie temperature [16].…”
