Chromatographie mit überkritischen fluiden Phasen

Abstract

Die Chromatographie mit überkritischen fluiden Phasen vereint in sich Eigenarten sowohl der Gas‐ als auch der Flüssigkeitschromatographie und weist darüber hinaus eigene spezielle Merkmale auf. Der Diffusionskoeffizient und insbesondere die Viskosität von fluiden Phasen können sich den Werten von Gasen unter niedrigem Druck annähern, während die Lösefähigkeit die von Flüssigkeiten erreichen kann. Darüber hinaus ist es jedoch mit überkritischen fluiden Phasen möglich, die chromatographischen Trennungen sehr wirksam durch Druckprogrammierung zu steuern, da die Löslichkeit mit steigender Dichte ansteigt. Eine Temperaturprogrammierung hingegen kann den entgegengesetzten Effekt wie bei der Gas‐ oder Flüssigkeitschromatographie haben, denn die Dichte nimmt bei vorgegebenem Druck mit der Temperatur ab. Die Chromatographie mit überkritischen fluiden Phasen dürfte vorzugsweise für Substanzen höheren Molekulargewichtes von Interesse sein. Die Leistungsfähigkeit der Methode wird an mehreren homologen Reihen demonstriert. So ließ sich ein Styrololigomer mit nominal Mw = 2200 unter Anwendung eines Druck‐ und Temperaturprogramms in 40 Spezies zerlegen.
