Abstract:Background: Cephaelis ipecacuanha is a medicinal plant used in folk medicine for the treatment of amebiasis. However, the pharmacological properties of this species remain poorly understood. Objective: Characterize chemical composition and in vitro antiprotozoal activity of Cephaelis ipecacuanha.
