Grasslands intensification by use of mineral fertilization has contributed substantially to the increase in forage production. Intensification, however, can degrade the other beneficial functions or soil properties. The effects of mineral fertilization on soil and plant chemical qualities of a permanent wet grassland (Festucetum pratense association) were investigated in Slovakia. The grassland was treated using 3 different N, P, and K rates of mineral fertilizers in kg. ha−1. yr−1 plus the Control (0NPK) almost over 60-year period (1961–2017). The N, P, and K rates in low NPK treatment (LNPK) were N50, P15.4, and K 41.5, in the medium NPK treatment (MNPK) were N100, P30.8, and K83, and in the high NPK treatment (HNPK) were N200, P 61.6, and K 166, respectively. Overall, soil variables (pH, soil organic carbon, plant-available K) showed the most significant changes. A more balanced development was observed in case of soil total nitrogen, C:N ratio, and plant-available P. ANOVA revealed a significant effect between treatments only on plant-available P. In the case of plant functional group development, long-term mineral addition significantly disfavors legumes and forbs. However, analyses of the botanical composition over the last 5 years showed that legume cover significantly differs only in the HNPK treatment. Plant C:P, N:P, and N:K ratios were significantly reduced when fertilizers were added. In terms of grasslands yields, the highest biomass and content of macronutrients were obtained under the HNPK rates. However, with regard to the quality and quantity of the soil organic matter, the most appropriate treatment has been with the MNPK rates. Our findings demonstrate that medium fertilization seems to be an acceptable compromise to meet both productivity and environmental aspects and to connect ecological benefits with social benefits in the long term.

Abstract. The emergence of many agricultural enterprises of different forms of ownership has led to the need for consulting firms. The proposed solution involves the creation of consulting technology in the field of agribusiness on the basis of specialized universities. The paper presents an analysis of the positive aspects of the use of the scientific potential of the agrarian University in providing farmers with consulting services. The perspective directions of development of consultant technologies are revealed. On the basis of the state agrarian University, the system of rendering services is studied, the most actual directions for an agricultural producer are allocated. It is established that consultations on introduction of results of own research and developmental works on plant growing bring the greatest income-26%; animal husbandry-22%; economy and accounting -25.3% of the total amount of the income. Creation of consulting departments on the basis of agrarian universities through the system analysis providing interrelation between scientists and the agricultural producer is offered. One of the main functions of such departments will be to collect information on the demand of the producer for certain scientific developments and participate in the formation of research strategy at the University.

The article considers the issue revealing the impact of slow-acting nitrogen fertilizers on the formation of leaf area and winter wheat productivity. A number of research was conducted in 2014-2017 in the forest-steppe zone of the Tyumen region, on leached chernozem, a predecessor is pure steam. In the period of earing the development of the leaf apparatus of winter wheat has been intensified by 0.18-4.73%, with respect to the control (without fertilizers) and other compared variants. Concerning the structure of winter wheat yield, within the period of study, the third, fourth and sixth variants of the experiment are traced, in which the control variant (without fertilizers) was exceeded by the largest number of indicators to the yield structure. The yield in the third, fourth and fifth variants was close in value, respectively, 3.36-3.41 kilo/ha, which is higher by 0.27-0.32 kilo/ha. The second option with the introduction of urea (60 kg / ha ai) appeared to be less effective: the average yield increase was 0.66% relative to the control. The yield of winter wheat, depending on the weather conditions of winter period, can vary from 2.20 to 4.58 t/ha, with a yield increase of up to 0.51 kilo/ha, which can positively affect the economic efficiency of cultivation and distribution of this yield in the Northern foreststeppe of the Tyumen region. It was established that the highest yield increase compared with the control one was obtained in the sixth variant with fertilization including carbamide encapsulated according to "Si" technology.
