Purpose: This systematic review investigates the methodological and ethical implications of using remote data collection tools to measure sexual/reproductive health (SRH) and gender-based violence (GBV) outcomes among women and girls in humanitarian and fragile settings. Methods: We included empirical studies of all design types that collected any self-reported primary data related to SRH/GBV using information and communication technology, in the absence of in-person interactions, from women and girls in humanitarian and fragile settings. The search was run in March 2021 without filters or limits in Ovid Medline, Embase, Web of Science, Clinicaltrials.gov , and Scopus. Quality was assessed using an adapted version of the MMAT tool. Two reviewers independently determined whether each full text source met the eligibility criteria, and conflicts were resolved through consensus. A-priori extraction fields concerned methodological rigor and ethical considerations. Results: 21 total studies were included. The majority of studies were quantitative descriptive, aiming to ascertain prevalence. Telephone interviews, online surveys, and mobile applications, SMS surveys, and online discussion forums were used as remote data collection tools. Key methodological considerations included the overuse of non-probability samples, lack of a defined sampling frame, the introduction of bias by making eligibility contingent on owning/accessing technology, and the lack of qualitative probing. Ethical consideration pertained to including persons with low literacy, participant safety, use of referral services, and the gender digital divide. Conclusion: Findings are intended to guide SRH/GBV researchers and academics in critically assessing methodological and ethical implications of using remote data collection tools to measure SRH and GBV in humanitarian and fragile settings.

La recension des écrits scientifiques démontre que les hommes abusés sexuellement à l’enfance et à l’adolescence (HASE) doivent composer avec des impacts négatifs qui se répercutent tout au long de leur vie adulte. Ces impacts peuvent être multiples (p. ex., détresse psychologique sévère, estime de soi pauvre, difficultés relationnelles) et ne sont pas sans conséquence sur le rapport au travail. Du moins, c’est ce que cette recherche mixte, conduite auprès de 28 HASE, semble indiquer. En effet, les participants vivent un rapport au travail qui est perturbé et perturbateur. Le rapport au travail est perturbé, car il est un exutoire. C’est-à-dire une manière de taire leurs souffrances psychologiques causées par les abus sexuels. Ce rapport est aussi perturbateur, car il ne contribue pas à leur réalisation personnelle. Les données quantitatives corroborent les données produites par l’analyse qualitative. Par exemple, seulement 40% occupent un emploi et près du tiers des répondants (28,6 %) déclare recevoir des prestations d’aide sociale (PAS), au moment de la collecte des données. Ces pourcentages sont relativement élevés, comparativement à la population générale masculine (PGM), 5,6% de la PGM reçoivent des PAS et 74% sont des salariés.

The study focuses on the impact of the creative drama method on child sexual abuse (CSA) prevention program in Turkey. A pretest-posttest experimental design with a control group was used in the study. The research was carried out with a total of 72 preschool children aged 3-6 years. Data were collected by What If Situations Test (WIST).A creative drama activity was conducted for the experimental group before training. Body Safety Training (BST) was used in both groups. The average WIST posttest scores were statistically significantly higher compared to pretest scores for the children in both groups (p < .05). A comparison of pretest and posttest assessment found that there was no statistically significant difference (p > .05) between the two groups in regard to the WIST assessment averages. BST Program has a positive impact on increasing personal safety skills when implemented together with creative drama activities.
