The low nutrients levels available in pasture formation reduces the forage yield. Soil correction and fertilization practices are considered priorities in the planning, renovation or recovery of pastures. The aimed of this experiment was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen and phosphate fertilization rate in productivity of the Panicum maximum cv. BRS Zuri. The experimental design was a randomized block design in a 3×4 factorial arrangement, with three doses of superphosphate (0.0, 80.0 and 160.0 kg.ha-1) and four doses of ammonium nitrate (0.0; 20.0; 40.0 and 60.0 kg.ha-1), with three replicates. The following parameters were evaluated at 120 days after implantation: green mass and dry matter yield, plant height, number of plants and tillers per square meter. The doses of 80.0 and 160.0 kg.ha-1 of P2O5 and 60.0 kg.ha-1 of nitrogen combined to each other showed the best results for forage yield.

Objetivou-se testar o efeito de doses de nitrogênio (N) sobre a produção, composição morfológica, estrutura e eficiência no uso do N (EUN) em capim-corrente (Urochloa mosambicensis). Foi utilizado delineamento em blocos ao acaso com seis repetições e seis tratamentos referentes às doses de 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 e 125 mg/dm³ de N. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação e o N foi aplicado por solução nutritiva. Houve efeito significativo do N sobre as variáveis de produção, composição morfológica e características estruturais, exceto para porcentagem de folhas. As doses de N estimularam linearmente a massa seca total (MST), que aumentou 224,11% com a aplicação de 125 mg/dm3. Também houve efeito positivo sobre o número de perfilhos, que aumentou 82,60%. O uso de 125 mg/dm³de N aumentou o número de inflorescências em 712,29%. Houve aumento significativo da proporção de colmos e inflorescência nas plantas adubadas com N. O Kd, valor estimado que corresponde a dose de N necessária para a obtenção da metade da produção máxima teórica de MST (13.157,8 mg/vaso), correspondeu a 27,72 mg/dm3 de N. Para essa dose, a eficiência aproximada no uso do N foi de 40,5 mg de MST para cada mg de N. O N aumenta linearmente a produção de massa seca total e de folhas, mas o aumento está associado a maior proporção de colmos e inflorescências na forragem. O aumento da dose de N reduz a EUN, sendo recomendadas doses de 27,72 mg/dm³ e 23,03 mg/dm³ para se otimizar a produção de massa seca total e de folhas do capim-corrente, respectivamente.

This study evaluated the forage yield and feed chemical composition of a Brachiaria decumbens natural pasture as undergrowth to a Myracrodruon urundeuva (aroeira) tree stand in a silvopasture system at UNESP/Ilha Solteira, Selvíria, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Sampling was conducted in a completely randomized block design with a factorial scheme of two plots and two sub-plots, with plots as the light regimen (full sunlight or shade from aroeira trees, spaced 3 × 3 m) and sub-plots as the grazing rotation scheme (pre-grazing and post-grazing). Sampling was performed along the four seasons of a year in four replicates. Canopy height, forage mass, morphological composition, nutritive value, and forage digestibility (whole-plant sample) were evaluated. Forage mass was significantly higher in the full sun area (1,306 kg DM/ha) than in the shaded site (727 kg DM/ha). Forage yield was low during the experimental period (1,529 and 58 kg/ha in the full sun and shaded sites, respectively). The nutritive value of B. decumbens was not significantly different between light regimens. Growing B. decumbens as undergrowth in aroeira stands may be an option in areas where the trees still occur, but other planting densities should be examined.
