Abstract: RESUMO: Vários estudos têm demonstrado resposta acentuada das forrageiras tropicais a doses de adubação nitrogenada. A adubação nitrogenada aumentou o n… Show more

“…However, Brazil is considered the second largest beef consumer (38.6 kg per person / year) and the second largest exporter (1.9 million tons carcass equivalent weight) (Silva et al, 2009;Dupas et al, 2016;Galindo et al, 2017). The food supply for these animals are based on native or cultivated pasture (Vitor et al, 2014), with an occupation of 180 to 200 million hectares of lands. Pasture is the most economical system for animal protein production to human consumption (Fernandes et al, 2015).…”

“…Fagundes et al (2005) evaluated the growth of B. decumbens under full sun and four nitrogen rates (75, 150, 225, and 300 kg N/ha.year) and found mean pasture growth rates of 9.7 and 67.1 kg/ha.day in winter and summer, respectively. Vitor et al (2014) evaluated forage yield at four nitrogen rates (0, 100, 200, 300, and 400 kg N/ha.year) and reported accumulation rates of 60 to 200 kg/ha.day, indicating that the accumulation potential of the species is much higher when plants are fertilized with nitrogen.…”
