“…They are composed of structural microbial communities adhering to different surfaces and being enveloped by the exopolymeric matrix [1]. Development of biofilms hinders the action of the defense system of the host and increases the resistance to standard antifungal agents [2]. Candida species like Candida albicans (C. albicans), Candida dubliniensis (C. dubliniensis), Candida tropicalis (C. tropicalis), Candida krusei (C. krusei), Candida glabrata (C. glabrata), Candida guilliermondii (C. gulliermondii), and Candida parapsilosis (C. parapsilosis) are fungal species of major medical importance.…”

“…Ar and Sc possess dose-dependent antifungal action but the underlying mechanism type (fungistatic and fungicidal) is not clear yet. Our data suggest that Ar and Sc found in herbal plants might have potential usage in the fight against Candida biofilms.Molecules 2020, 25, 476 2 of 18 infections [2,4,5]. In certain individuals with immune-compromised status, the Candida species might induce consequent infection.…”

“…C . parapsilosis is widely distributed as commensal microorganisms of several healthy animal species and in infections reported in different animal hosts (reviewed by Cordeiro et al [ 7 ]), but it has not been reported in aquatic organisms. The opportunistic Candida spp .…”
