Brazilian Portuguese version of the Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQR-Br): cross-cultural validation, reliability, and construct and structural validation

Abstract: The results of this study suggest that that the FIQR-Br is a reliable and valid instrument for assessing fibromyalgia-related impact, and supports its use in clinical settings and research. The structure of the three domains of the FIQR-Br was also confirmed. Implications for Rehabilitation Fibromyalgia is a chronic musculoskeletal disorder characterized by widespread and diffuse pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and depression. “…Additionally, our findings showed acceptable testretest reliability but the domains of life activity and participation showed less stability in individuals with FMS after one week. These results are probably due to FMS being a health condition with a wide variety of transient symptoms [13,36], and changes may occur between two time points. We hypothesize that the WHODAS 2.0 is capable of detecting minimal changes in these domains, however, the responsiveness of this instrument needs to be tested in a future study.…”

“…Considering the fact that people with one and the same clinical condition can vary substantially in terms of disability, there is a need to expand the assessment tools [3]. The instruments commonly used to assess outcomes in FMS are not aligned with all categories of functioning as defined by the ICF [13,14]. The World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHODAS 2.0) is a tool that measure functioning based on the theoretical conceptual framework of the ICF.…”

“…Data collection is done by distributing questionnaires using Google Form to students. The reason for using a questionnaire is because it can easily collect and measure all information from the research sample using a rating rating scale (Elmendorf & Song, 2015;Lupi et al, 2017). The questionnaire used in this study was made using a Likert scale to measure perception with statements that focus on a person's perspective on something (Wu & Leung, 2017;Caia et al, 2018;Ikeda et al, 2018).…”

“…Em concordância com a proposta desse ciclo de reabilitação é essencial a participação de uma equipe multiprofissional durante todo processo de reabilitação de um paciente. Isso torna essencial a utilização de mecanismos para mensurar as respostas terapêuticas através de instrumentos funcionais específicos e validados (ORSINI et al, 2006;LUPI et al, 2017).…”
