Bibliometric Analysis of the Wos Literature on Research of Science Teacher From 2000 to 2017

Abstract: In order to explore the development of research of science teacher(RST), 904 articles from the Web of Science (WoS) core set based on bibliometric methods through R software were analyzed in this research. Specifically, it examined the cooccurrence relations of countries/regions, major journals, most cited references, and hot keywords from the macroscopic, mesoscopic and microscopic level of RST. The results showed that the core strength of RST is mainly from traditional industrialized countries such as the … Show more

“…However, as a topic in the field of science education research, the focus of science teacher mainly involves PCK (Shulman, 1986 &1987), views on nature of science (Lederman, 1992;Abd-El-Khalick & Lederman, 2000), dispositions (Flores, 2016), and few research studies on the core teaching competencies of science teachers (Ye et al, 2019). And even if it is competence research about science teacher, the research objects are mainly about elementary science teacher or pre-service science teacher (Deveci, 2016;Wu et al, 2018), and there are few studies for secondary school science teachers.…”

“…As a result, presenting an overview of current research output in science education within TPACK framework field has become an important task. To best of my knowledge, bibliometric analysis of TPACK literature is not limited to science education field, but it involve multidisciplinary field (e.g Ye, Chen, & Kong, 2019;Soler-Costa et al, 2021;Lee, Chung, & Wei, 2022;Zou et al, 2022). This prompted us to perform a bibliometric analysis in order to create the summary of the current state of the literature in the last decade.…”

“…Bibliometric analysis is a method that helps to summarize and to interpret existing information. Literature presents a good number of bibliometric studies (Hernandez-Torrano & Ibrayeva, 2020;Jimenez et al, 2019;Özkaya, 2019;Tang et al, 2019;Ye et al, 2019;Jho, 2018;Khodabandelou et al, 2018;Altınpulluk, 2018;Lopes et al, 2017).…”
