Bestimmung der subjektiven Beeinträchtigung durch Dysphonien

Abstract: Both questionnaires provide very similar results. Thus, for clinical purposes, it seems justified to restrict oneself to using only one of the questionnaires. Whenever basic information on the patients' self perception of a voice disorder is required, the VRQOL questionnaire with only ten items may be easier to handle than the VHI questionnaire with 30 items.

“…It reflects a patient's judgement about the impact of his voice disorder on daily life and can also be used as a tool for outcome measurement. However, the V-RQOL Questionnaire [15] correlates highly with the VHI both in the English [20] and the German version [21,22] . Its major advantage compared to the VHI is that it consists of fewer questions (10 vs. 30).…”

“…In contrast to other diseases [31,32] , the subjective burden elicited by dysphonia is not perceived differently by women and men. This is important with regard to methodological aspects, as the V-RQOL Questionnaire [20][21][22] does not have to be evaluated in a gender-specific way [33] .…”

“…An alternative is the V-RQOL questionnaire [18][19][20][21][22] , which gives almost identical results [21] . The latter is recommended for clinical application as it only comprises 10 items, while the VHI consists of 30 questions, and it is considered more practicable [18,20] . Furthermore, Golub et al [6] proved that the V-RQOL may be used in elderly patients.…”

“…The gold standard for self-assessment of voice is the VHI, a 30-item questionnaire examining functional, physical and emotional aspects of voice disorders [14][15][16][17][18] . An alternative is the V-RQOL questionnaire [18][19][20][21][22] , which gives almost identical results [21] .…”
