The Malay Peninsula, mainland Indochina and the Greater Sunda Islands appear to be the primary evolutionary hotspots harboring the most species-rich Barsine faunas (Holloway, 2001;Černý and Pinratana, 2009;Bucsek, 2012;Volynkin andČerný, 2017a, b, c, 2018), whereas only a few species are distributed on the Moluccas and Lesser Sundas (Holloway, 2001;Spitsyn and Bolotov, 2018).
