“…The doses of abamectin ranging from 5 to 20 μmolL -1 were all inhibitory to FG cell proliferation as could be seen from the cell growth curve. It was in accord with the report that 3 μmolL -1 abamectin decreased the survival of tumor cell Hep-2 to 84 %± 2% after 2 d incubation (Kory- (Korystov et al, 2004). The results presented here show that FG cells are sensitive to abamectin, and FG cell line is suitable for the evaluation of the acute toxicity of abamectin.…”

“…In addition, abamectin has also been used as an anthelmintic agent in animals and humans (Kaplan et al, 1994). Recently, Korystov et al (2004) proved that abamectin could inhibit multidrug resistance of tumor cells and may be used in tumor therapy together with some antitumor preparations.…”

“…These factors might have predisposed TVT There are several mechanisms by which tumor cells acquire drug resistance. In dogs with TVT, overexpression of permeability glycoprotein (P-gp) is one of the major factors leading to multidrug resistance (MDR) (9,10). MDR may occur with vincristine, vinblastine, doxorubicin, prednisolone, and others (11).…”

“…Recently, Korystov and coworkers [2004] demonstrated that Abamectin effectively inhibits multidrug resistance of Hep-2 and P388 tumor cells. Accordingly, the possibility of using Abamectin among other Avermectins in antitumor chemotherapy to abolish multidrug resistance of tumor cells as well as their use in combination with antitumor agents to enhance their effectiveness have been suggested [Korystov et al, 2004]. Furthermore, the effect of Abamectin on the proliferation growth of murine ascities Ehrlich carcinoma and P388 lympholeukemia, and solid Ehrlich and 755 carcinoma tumor cells was studied and the results clearly demonstrated that Abamectin is able to exert a pronounced antitumor activity, at least in mice [Drinyaev et al, 2004].…”
