The research aimed to determine the importance of reflective practice in the teaching profession during the COVID-19 pandemic. To obtain the required information, 85 teachers were selected. Teachers from both public and private educational institutions in the city of Azogues, Cañar province. Most of the participants were female and over 40 years of age. The teachers taught their subjects at the General Basic Education level. A demographic analysis was carried out for data collection. A questionnaire was used in which questions were included to determine the degree of application of reflective practice by the educators. The answers were provided based on a Likert scale with 5 response options. The results obtained showed that not all educators apply reflective practice. Teachers who apply reflective practice found it easier to adapt to the needs of students in the context of the pandemic. Difficulties in implementing improvements in pedagogical planning were also recognized. Received: 8 January 2023 / Accepted: 20 February 2023 / Published: 5 March 2023

The problem of free sex among adolescents is increasing from year to year, this is because teenagers do not understand and care less about the health of the reproductive organs. The research aims to increase understanding and caring attitude towards the health of the reproductive organs. The development of the sex education model is carried out using the ADDIE development model through 5 stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Teaching materials use the Flipbuilder application, the use of the application is expected to make it easier for students to learn. This research also developed other learning tools in the form of lesson plans, syllabi, and other learning assessments. the results of device development obtained reproductive system teaching materials that are valid and suitable for use. The results of the questionnaire from material experts reached 89% (very high), while the validation of teaching materials experts reached 90.48% (very high). At the implementation stage, the effectiveness of the sex education model with teaching materials using the flip-builder application was obtained based on an understanding of 87 (very good). The attitude of students towards caring for the health of the reproductive organs is 65% (good). Students' responses during the biology learning process in class using the sex education model and flip-builder application teaching materials said the students were good to be implemented in class

The present study aims to evaluate the relationship between leadership and innovation in online education, focusing on the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences of the Universidad Técnica de Manabí (FSBSUTM) during the first semester of 2023. The university is located in the Republic of Ecuador. The research was developed under a quantitative approach, using a Likert-type questionnaire. The population of interest was made up of teachers from the Faculty of Humanistic and Social Sciences of the Technical University of Manabí, with a total of 70 members. To select the sample, non-probabilistic participatory sampling was used. The statistical analysis focused on the study of correlations between variables, using Spearman’s correlation coefficient. The results obtained indicate that stronger training and experience in educational innovation are positively related to the ability to overcome difficulties and promote the effective implementation of strategies in virtual education. It is concluded that university leaders face challenges in implementing online educational innovation. However, the importance of implementing effective leadership strategies and fostering a pro-innovation digital culture as a means of overcoming such difficulties is highlighted. These findings have significant implications for university leadership training and development, as well as for the promotion of educational innovation in virtual environments.
