“…Pachycordyle has been found in shallow waters of the Bay of Naples and other parts of the Mediterranean (Adriatic and Aegean Seas); the western Atlantic (Wedler and Larson, 1986); Bermuda (Calder, 1988); possibly Nassau Harbour, Bahamas, as abortive medusoids (Mayer, 1910); and lakes of Japan (including the entirely freshwater Lake Biwa as well as the brackish Ono River -Lake Kahokugata, connected to the Sea of Japan). They occur mainly at salinities of 0-20 ‰, but in Bermuda, near Harrington Sound, Calder (1988) found a 2 mm high colony at 2 m depth in water with a salinity 35-36‰.…”
