Asymmetric dual‐band linear‐to‐circular converter by bi‐layered chiral metamaterial

Abstract: In this article, we present a dual‐band linear‐to‐circular transparent converter by bi‐layered chiral metamaterial (CMM) with an inverted “G” array in microwave region. The proposed metasurface consists of three layers which are the upper layer of the metasurface with a periodic regular metallic inverted “G” and wire array, the dielectric layer, and the bottom layer operating as chiral symmetric structure of the upper. The simulation results show that the transmitted right‐circular polarized wave with the axia… Show more

“…Various techniques have been reported on the asymmetric linear-to-linear polarization area through the use of bi-layered 22,23 and multi-layered 24,25 chiral structures. Currently, scientific community has directed attention towards realizing asymmetric linear-to-circular polarization [26][27][28][29][30][31][32] . As it is a challenging task to achieve asymmetric linear-to-circular (CPS) like the ones in 27,28,32 , however, multi-layered structures can be deployed where multi-band or enhanced bandwidth is required.…”

“…A compact three-element radiating structure with right-handed circular polarization (RHCP) has been proposed to link a low-power wide area network to space, taking advantage of the IoT. When considering FR-4 as a substrate for the antenna circuit and feeder network based on a quasi lumped quadrature coupler, the antenna had a radiation efficiency of 69% and a gain of 3.14 dBi [20]. For IoT applications has been proposed…”
