Empirical data on the seismic behavior of masonry buildings are collected by technicians through rapid visual assessment procedures, i.e., by filling in forms that organize information in short answers or ticks. The resulting empirical database serves as a basis for prevention strategies, but the archiving and the post-processing of data are always a potential cause of losses and misinterpretations. New technologies are nowadays entering seismic risk analyses as a support to the usual visual approach. This paper proposes a new application for Android mobile devices that digitalizes an assessment form (MUSE-DV) able to collect damage and vulnerability data of masonry buildings in seismic areas, including information on strengthening interventions applied to buildings in the past. The client–server architecture of the app considers local devices communicating over the web with a central unit; data processing is split between them to reduce network and resource needs. This approach is convenient with thin devices, such as smartphones, and in post-disaster situations, when the mobile network may not be available. Data collected onsite can be stored in remote archives and therefore shared among technicians without affecting the integrity and consistency of the database. The whole dataset can be extracted and processed by a dedicated software for statistical and spatial analysis. The MUSE-DV procedure was validated in the area struck by the 2016 Central Italy earthquake and the app presented here was preliminarily tested onsite on the buildings of Castelsantangelo sul Nera (Macerata district); the results contributed to damage and vulnerability analyses by the means of thematic maps.

Finding of new faults in Surabaya city has attracted many researchers to evaluate the seismic resilience of the city. A major earthquake in Surabaya may cause a huge losses for the country due to its massive population and large business activities. In this research, a physical vulnerability map of buildings in Surabaya was developed, particularly due to the updated potential earthquake in Surabaya. The results are expected to be used as part of a mitigation and risk reduction strategy for earthquake disasters in the city of Surabaya. The sampled buildings were aggregated in the scale of regional blocks and urban villages in Surabaya, considering the structural type and typology of the buildings. The aggregation process to capture the distribution of existing buildings uses various inputs from landsat maps, google maps, google street view, CKTR Surabaya (Cmap), and openstreetmap Surabaya. Spatial mapping in the scale of regional and village blocks with more precise data will be an essential information in earthquake risk reduction strategies.

PT. Jakarana Tama merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri makanan cepat saji dengan produk akhir berupa mie instan. Produk mie instan ini diproduksi dengan merk gaga mie. Perusahaan ini dalam kegiatan produksinya sering mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan jumlah produksi yang optimal disebabkan karena besarnya permintaan produk yang bersifat fluktuatif dan persediaan bahan baku yang tidak terkendali akibatnya sering terjadi kelebihan bahan baku. Pada bulan-bulan tertentu kapasitas produksi lebih besar dari permintaan pasar yang mengakibatkan terjadi penumpukan barang dan besarnya biaya penyimpanan yang dikeluarkan sehingga perusahaan tidak memperoleh keuntungan yang optimal, maka diperlukan perencanaan produksi yang optimal dengan metode program dinamis dan pengendalian persediaan dengan metode EOQ (Economic Order Quantity). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah persediaan bahan baku yang optimal agar menghasilkan rencana produksi yang tepat untuk memaksimumkan keuntungan dan dapat menunjang kelancaran operasional perusahaan. Hasil perhitungan biaya produksi dengan menggunakan perencanaan diperoleh biaya sebesar Rp. 67.589.432.234 dan biaya produksi tanpa perencanaan sebesar Rp. 74.575.569.472 selama satu tahun. Persentase tingkat efisiensi penghematan biaya yang diperoleh oleh pihak perusahaan jika perusahaan menerapkan sistem perencanaan produksi maka diperoleh penghematan sebesar 9,37%.Dengan jumlah pemesanan yang optimal pada bahan baku tepung terigu adalah 231.842 karung (frekuensi pemesanan 2 kali per tahun) dan jumlah pemesanan yang optimal pada bahan baku tepung tapioka adalah 6.570 karung (frekuensi pemesanan 2 kali per tahun)
