“…The term “anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament” should be eliminated, because the anterior ligament of the superior tibiofibular joint is the “anterior ligament of the fibular head” not the “anterior superior tibiofibular ligament”. On the other hand, the ATiFL‐DF has been also erroneously called the distal anterior tibiofibular ligament [13], the accessory anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament [3–5], or the distal anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament [14]. As suggested by the International Federation of Anatomists [16], eponyms should be eliminated to prevent confusion and the term “Basset's ligament” should therefore be avoided as a name for the ATiFL‐DF.…”

( 8) The ATiFL-DF is not in contact with the talus, as the talus is inside the mortise [14]. “…Standard ankle arthroscopy portals have likewise been well described in literature [29, 33]. The efficacy of the arthroscopic procedures to treat ankle pathologies individually has also been well documented in the literature [10, 16, 28, 29, 33, 37]. The current study was found to have similar success with regard to the significant improvement of the AOFAS Ankle and Hind foot Scale scores from 70.2 ± 15.2 to 93.0 ± 5.4 points ( p < 0.001).…”
