Aqueous Stability Studies of Polyethylene Glycol and Oleic Acid-Based Anionic Surfactants for Application in Enhanced Oil Recovery through Dynamic Light Scattering

Abstract: The present study investigates the aqueous stability of polyethylene glycol and oleic acid-based anionic surfactants through the dynamic light scattering (DLS) and zeta potential methods, for application in enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Polyethylene glycol dioleate sulfonate (PDOS) surfactant solutions were prepared in concentrations of 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, and 1 wt% in deionized water. Aqueous stability of PDOS was assessed by measuring the droplet size over five days, using nano particle analyzer HORIBA SZ-10… Show more

“…The similitude of the illuminating beam among the triple-film, dual-film, and singlefilm structures should be drawn to figure out the answer. We presented the mathematic model based on the theory of Mie scattering (Li et al, 2010;Liu et al, 2010;Irawan et al, 2017) for the task of assessing the transferred blue lights as well as transformed yellow lights for the single-film, two-film, and triple-film models. The computed outcomes prove the effectiveness of using more phosphor layers in a WLED remote structure for higher lighting efficiency.…”

“…Such reserves may be recovered by tertiary recovery schemes through enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques, such as chemical flooding. As one of the injected chemicals in chemical flooding, surfactants have a role to play in releasing the trapped oil by lowering the interfacial tension between oil and water [3]. Meanwhile in CBM Field, there are some similar techniques to optimize the hydrocarbon production.…”

“…The objective of developing PEG conjugates was to enhance water solubility and stability while also lessening clearance through the kidney, which prolonged circulation in the bloodstream and increased the drug molecule's biocompatibility (Bayard et al, 2013;Hamley, 2014;Cui et al, 2021). Additionally, PEG has good solubility and stability, increasing membrane permeability and enhancing oil recovery (Febriasari et al, 2021;Irawan et al, 2017). Furthermore, PEG is appropriate for biological applications due to its biological inertness and low toxicity (Rashmi et al, 2020;Turecek & Siekmann, 2019).…”
