Application of phosphate solvent microbes and coffee skin compost to increase nutrient uptake of Robusta coffee plants in Andisols

Abstract: Coffee plants need phosphorus nutrients for growth and fertilization in high quantities. Andisol has a very low availability of P. Efforts that can be made to increase the availability of P are by utilizing phosphate solvent microbes and coffee skin compost. The purpose of this study was to obtain the right type of microbial phosphate solvent and organic coffee skin ingredients in increasing the availability and growth of coffee plants in Andisol affected by the eruption of Mt. Sinabung. This study used a fact… Show more

“…It is theorized that this yield response is due to increased P availability. Research on agricultural soil shows organic fertilizers can increase P availability in Andosol soils, where P is often bounded and immobile, although the mechanism is not clear [40,41].…”

“…The trials currently being undertaken are the first steps in this, but we fully expect the work to develop. Learning from the initial fertilizer trials is, for example, expected to form the basis of an ongoing process to refine and optimize fertilizer applications within the forest system, helping to support the wider understanding of nutrient cycling with Andosols soils [40,41]. Whilst the coffee pruning work, which already closely matches the approach by Dufour et al, [21], can be linked to the work on pest and disease and microclimate data to provide additional insight into the relative role of pruning and microclimate management on pest and disease occurrence purposed by Dufour et al [21].…”

“…Petani kopi di Desa Kebakalan masih memiliki pengetahuan yang rendah mengenai cara budidaya kopi (Sembiring et al, 2019) dan pengolahan pasca-panen. Setelah mendapatkan bantuan bibit dari perum perhutani dan Dinas 135 Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Temanggung, masyarakat memulai menanam bibit kopi di sela-sela tanaman hutan milik Perum Perhutani.…”
