Application of latent variable methods to process control and multivariate statistical process control in industry

Abstract: Multivariate monitoring and control schemes based on latent variable methods have been receiving increasing attention by industrial practitioners in the last 15 years. Several companies have enthusiastically adopted the methods and have reported many success stories. Applications have been reported where multivariate statistical process control, fault detection and diagnosis is achieved by utilizing the latent variable space, for continuous and batch processes, as well as, for process transitions as for exampl… Show more

“…Em função da comprovação da não normalidade dos dados, o desvio padrão não é uma medida confiável para análise da variabilidade dos dados (SONG et al, 2002). Isto neutraliza o poder dos gráficos de controle (KOURTI, 2005) e dos índices cp e cpk.…”

“…LPLS can be used for data classification, data mining, and image processing [25]. For example, input weight w and output weight c can be used to find the contributions of different variables to each score while input score vector t and output score vector u can be used to detect outliers.…”

“…After the PC spaces were established with 30 DEEJ samples randomly selected for the fingerprint analysis, Hotelling T 2 and DModX were used to evaluate quality consistency and fast recognition of abnormal samples (Setarehdan et al, 2002;Kourti, 2005;Chiang and Colegrove, 2007). Fig.…”
