Application of Intuitionistic Fuzzy Topsis Model for Troubleshooting an Offshore Patrol Boat Engine

Abstract: In this paper, an Intuitionistic Fuzzy TOPSIS model which is based on a score function is proposed for detecting the root cause of failure in an Offshore Boat engine, using groups of expert's opinions. The study which has provided an alternative approach for failure mode identification and analysis in machines, addresses the machine component interaction failures which is a limitation in existing methods. The results from the study show that although early detection of failures in engines is quite difficult to… Show more

“…Aikhuele, et al [15] applied the Fuzzy TOPSIS model for identification of the main causes of defeat in offshore boat engines considering a wide range of major reasons in the field. By the way, expert's based opinions revealed the research purposes as a ranking system and classification of overall scores.…”

“…Application of the proposed model for reliability management in the WT system In this section, the proposed model is applied for failure detention and for reliability management of a WT System. Numerical Case Study: Faults in WT can occur in a number of components, like sensors and in the actuator parts, however, early detection of unexpected changes in the system, could save the WT from unforeseen hazards and improve its performance [10,11] and reliability management.…”

“…Detecting faults in such system have proven a difficult task [8], due to the dependency of its components on each other [9]. Faults in WT can occur in a number of components, like sensors or actuators parts, however, early detection of unexpected changes in the system, could save the WT from unforeseen hazards and improve its performance [10,11] and reliability management.…”
