“…Both ACL and LA were positive in 6 (15%), and ACL and /or LA were positive in 11 (27.5%). Almost similar results were found by Mishra et al in India; ACL was positive in 6/28 (21.5%) patients, LA in 10/51 (19.6%), 2 had both, and 4 (29.4%) had ACL and/or LA (13). (Table 5).…”

“…summarises the characteristics of the included studies. Subgroup analysis aiming at estimating whether aPL-positive young individuals have a greater risk for CVE when compared with individuals without aPL was possible in 15 studies 4 9 12–15 17 18 22 24 31 33 37 47 54…”

“…However, robust scientific data from large controlled population studies to support this statement are still lacking. An important limitation to our analysis is that adequate controls groups, crucial for the calculation of risk estimation, were available for only a few studies 4 9 12–15 17 18 22 24 31 33 37 47 54. Moreover, among these, the results of studies with less than 30 patients produced quantified OR with wide CIs and poor test accuracy as expected 58.…”

“…Whether or not the presence of lupus anticoagulant poses a greater risk than other antiphospholipid antibodies remains unclear. Consistent associations between young ischaemic stroke and the presence of lupus anticoagulant and anticardiolipin antibodies are seen [96100, 102, 103], although there are conflicting reports regarding the significance of anticardiolipin antibodies in older stroke populations [104106]. Interpretation is complicated by methodological differences and the use of different cut-off values with stronger associations observed at higher titre cutoffs.…”
