“…The FTIR assignments are based on those reported elsewhere . FTIR of pure Tween-80 exhibited peaks characteristic of Tween-80 such as those corresponding to ethylene oxide residues (C–O vibrations at 1092 cm –1 ), methylene groups of acyl/fatty acid chain (C–H scissoring vibrations at 1459 cm –1 , symmetric stretching vibrations at 2857 cm –1 , asymmetric stretching vibrations at 2922 cm –1 , CC vibrations at 1641 cm –1 ), and ester bond (stretching vibrations of CO bond at 1735 cm –1 ) as well as O–H stretching vibrations at 3460 cm –1 due to water/moisture. , The FTIR spectrum of 10 mg/mL of Tween-80 solution overlapped with the spectrum of pure Tween-80 with minor peak shifts as noted below. The EO peak (1095 cm –1 ) and ester peak (1736 cm –1 ) shifted to a slightly higher wavenumber in 10 mg/mL of Tween-80.…”
