“…Direct protein precipitation with acetonitrile, methanol, and (35% w /w) perchloric acid gave low recoveries but was unable to eliminate protein interference from plasma. Although liquid–liquid extraction (LLE) and solid phase extraction (SPE) techniques had been used in previous studies reports, they were not given priority because they were time consuming and needed expensive materials. In the current study, SALLE was tested using different salts (sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and potassium carbonate) at different amounts and different ratios.…”

“…Accordingly, it needs to be derivatized first with a fluorogenic reagent to enhance the sensitivity required for its bioanalysis. 4-Chloro-7-nitrobenzofurazan (NBD-Cl) is a well known, stable, nonfluorescent reagent that is utilized frequently as a derivatizing agent for quantification of several drugs containing the amino group [9][10][11][12] . In the current study, NBD-Cl has been selected as it is very reactive under mild reaction conditions, has a long shelf life, is available in any analytical laboratory, and is cheap and highly photostable compared with other existing derivatizing reagent such as fluorescamine and dansyl chloride.…”

“…Many pharmaceutical compounds [17][18][19] were determined spectrophotometrically and/or spectrouorimetri-cally by utilizing chromogenic and uorogenic properties of NBD-Cl. The interaction between NBD-Cl with compounds bearing basic primary, secondary amino group or hydroxyl group resulted in the formation of colored and/or uorescent product.…”

“…NBD‐Cl has been used for the spectrofluorimetric determination of quetiapine fumarate which has a similar structure and pharmacological effect as our studied drug, also NBD‐Cl has been used for the assay of several pharmaceutical compounds with different structures and pharmacological effects . The free electron lone pair of nitrogen of the amino group present in these compounds attacked the chloride of NBD‐Cl.…”
