Analysis of pregnancy outcome after anastomosis of oviduct and its influencing factors

Abstract: BackgroundThis study aims to investigate the influencing factors of pregnancy after laparoscopic oviduct anastomosis.MethodsThe data of 156 cases of laparoscopic oviduct anastomosis in our hospital were analyzed.ResultsThe pregnancy rate decreased with age (P < 0.005). The pregnancy rate after six years of anastomosis was higher in those with ligation (P < 0.005). The postoperative pregnancy rate significantly increased in subjects with oviduct lengths of > 7 cm (P < 0.01). The pregnancy rate of isthmus end-to… Show more

“…Considering the associated factors, our findings suggest that the type of anastomosis significantly affects the pregnancy rate. A study suggested that pregnancy rates were higher after isthmus‐ampulla anastomosis of the oviduct compared with anastomosis at other sites of the oviduct 9,10 . However, our study indicates that the pregnancy rate was lower after isthmus‐ampulla anastomosis of the oviduct when compared with that after anastomosis at other sites.…”

“…26 In a study conducted on 156 patients who underwent laparoscopic reanastomosis, it was observed that the pregnancy rate was 81% in the first 6-year interval, 79% in the 6-10-year interval, and this rate was halved in the 10-year or longer interval. 27 In our study, when the time between sterilization and reanastomosis was compared, the pregnancy rate was 76.3% for 1-5 years, 55% for 5-9 years, and 40% for those who were sterilized more than 10 years ago. We think that if the time between sterilization and reanastomosis is less than 5 years, it increases the pregnancy rate.…”

“…In one of the other two studies, the pregnancy rate was reported as 91% between 1–5 years and 72% between 11–15 years, but the effect of the age factor on this rate was not evaluated 26 .
