Analysis of Overall Equipment Effectiveness in Fanuc Line 1 Machines by Minimizing six big losses

Abstract: The company produces several automotive components in Karawang. For the production process using Fanuc machines on Line1, but the results of evaluating the performance of the engine Fanuc Line1 engine effectiveness is not optimal. It was alleged that due to the planning and maintenance of the management machinery was not good, so that the frequency of damage to the machine was still high, which gave the effect that the production was not achieved. For this reason, the effectiveness of the use of Fanuc line1 is… Show more

“…OEE measurement is essential for monitoring how the machine operates and what losses reduce effectiveness so that improvement efforts can be evaluated and adjusted to needs [14], [15] According to Nakajima [16], OEE is a parameter that focuses on the effectiveness of machines/ equipment to measure company productivity. OEE is the most effective action to encourage machine/ equipment improvement [9]. OEE is the ability of the engine to work optimally in the best conditions to produce maximum output and quality [17].…”

“…Losses caused by downtime are affected by Six Big Losses [8]. Six Big Loses is the cause of equipment/ machines not operating normally [9]. Six Big Losses that interfere with the performance of machines/ equipment cause losses that are not realized by the company [10].…”

“…The methodology of OEE is used to measure the overall performance of the equipment. Incremental improvement in the OEE could only be done by the reduction of six big losses (Badiger & Gandhinathan, 2008; Burhan & Sari, 2019). These losses include setup and adjustment loss, breakdown loss, idle and minor stoppage loss, speed loss, quality defects and rework loss, and start-up loss.…”
