This study aims to provide an overview of the use of the VCT (Value Clarification Technique) model in Civic Education to foster students' moral awareness. In the current global era, there are many moral crises experienced by students caused by a lack of moral awareness. The design used in this study is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, documentation studies, literature studies, research results are carried out through the stages of analysis and verification or concluding to obtain conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: Morals are an inseparable part of human life, morals are characteristics that show patterns of human behavior in carrying out their lives. Good morals show that a person has good behavior or behavior patterns, and vice versa. In this era of globalization, of course, moral issues get special attention, especially among teenagers. So there is a need for moral awareness in learners to fortify themselves. In an increasingly global era, a learning model is needed to build moral awareness in learners, which can be done through the learning of citizenship education, namely the use of the VCT (Value Clarification Technique) model applied by teachers in the classroom. The VCT model is an innovative learning model that can be applied in Civics learning in fostering the moral awareness of students in the global era. Growing awareness in students that morals are a very important part of carrying out life as good citizens. The global era cannot be avoided, but its development must be followed by continuing to apply moral values as well as strengthening and fostering moral awareness within oneself.

The purpose of this study was to describe how games can be used to learn value clarification techniques (VCT). Affective learning is centered on cognitive learning and so it is not often applied in class. Affective learning is usually only carried out by teachers in schools, particularly in elementary schools, if there are problems with student attitudes, and only advice and rules are given. This is based on the idea that unwanted attitudes can be prevented. Affective learning is needed in the classroom as a way to manage attitudes, and it can involve interesting games to be more embedded in student’s learning. Using VCT in affective learning differs from cognitive or psychomotor learning because of its focus on values. The implementation of VCT using games is done by providing a stimulus in the form of a moral dilemma that students must solve. This approach must take into account the advantages and disadvantages of implementing games in the classroom. Keywords: games, VCT, effective learning, elementary school

Permasalahan yang terjadi saat ini adalah masih banyaknya siswa yang kurang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis sehingga berpengaruh pada hasil belajar PKn yang rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis dampak model pembelajaran value clarification technique dan pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah non equivalent post-test only control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD yang berjumlah 95 siswa. Sampel diambil dengan teknik random sampling dengan jumlah 50 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Instrumen pengumpulan data yaitu lembar tes objektif. Data yang telah dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan uji-t sampel tak berkorelasi (Independent T-Test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran VCT dengan kelompok yang dibelajarkan tanpa menggunakan model pembelajaran VCT. Hasil penelitian ini dikuatkan berdasarkan perhitungan uji-t yang memperoleh hasil angka signifikansi 0,000 yang berarti kurang dari 0,05 (0,000<0,05). Disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Value Clarification Technique (VCT) berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV SD. Model pembelajaran Value Clarification Technique (VCT) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar.
