Análise da Vulnerabilidade à Inundação na Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Sirinhaém, utilizando o Método de Análise Hierárquica

Abstract

As fortes chuvas geram enchentes e inundações, comprometendo a qualidade de vida da população local e causando danos significativos à economia. A bacia do rio Sirinhaém é constituída por rios perenes e promove vazões regularizadas significativas. As fortes chuvas que ocorreram em julho de 2010 causaram, por exemplo, grandes consequências às unidades de saúde básica, unidades de ensino e habitações nos municípios de Barra de Guabiraba, Palmeirinha, Cortês e Gameleira. Dessa forma, o estudo tem como objetivo o mapeamento e a identificação de áreas vulneráveis à inundação utilizando a metodologia AHP, desenvolvida por Saaty em 1970, na bacia do rio Sirinhaém. A metodologia inicialmente atribui grau de importância para as variáveis estudadas, sendo elas: altitude, declividade, tipo de solo, uso e ocupação do solo, e em seguida aplica a álgebra de mapas utilizando o software QGIS. O mapeamento resultante mostra uma região majoritariamente com baixa a moderada vulnerabilidade, apresentando alta vulnerabilidade apenas em áreas de baixas altitudes e declividades, como no exultório da bacia e zonas próximas aos rios.Palavras-chave: vulnerabilidade; inundação; Processo Hierárquico Analítico (AHP). Flood vulnerability analysis in the Sirinhaém river basin using the Analytic Hierarchy Process method A B S T R A C THeavy rains generate river floods and flash floods, compromising the quality of life of the local population and causing significant damage to the economy. The Sirinhaém river is constituted by perennial rivers and provides a significant capacity of regularized flows. The heavy rains that occurred in July 2010 had, for example, great consequences for basic health units, teaching units and homes at Barra de Guabiraba, Palmeirinha, Cortês and Gameleira. Thus, the study aims to map and the identify areas vulnerable to flooding using the AHP methodology, developed by Saaty in 1970. This methodology initially assigns a degree of importance to the variables studied, namely: altitude, slope, soil type, land use and occupation, and then applies map algebra using the QGIS software. The mapping results revel a region mostly with low to moderate vulnerability, with hight vulnerability seen only in areas of lower altitude and slopes as seen in the basin exutory and river zones.Keywords: vulnerability. flooding.
