An alternative methodology for testing currency crises resulting from imbalances in macroeconomic fundamentals

Abstract: This article analyses whether exchange rate pressures and speculative attacks against the Brazilian currency during the period of exchange rate anchorage resulted from imbalances in economic fundamentals.
