Amperometric Immunosensor for DetectingSchistosoma mansoniAntibody

Abstract: An immunosensor for detecting the antibody anti-apyrase of Schistosoma mansoni based on rigid composite materials, containing graphite powder and epoxy resins, developed in this work, is described. A surface modification strategy for the use of oxidized graphite in the detection of antibody-antigen interaction was developed. This modification strategy is based on silanization of conductive composite. First, the graphite powder-epoxy resin was treated with concentrated hydrogen peroxide to improve surface hydro… Show more

“…The electrode surface was oxidized and treated with APTES to form amino groups which were further activated with GA to immobilize apyrase protein. Once the detection antibody (HRP-IgG) was added, determination of anti-apyrase was performed by amperometry in the presence of H 2 O 2 as the enzyme substrate and 3,3,5,5-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) redox mediator [77].…”

“…In this same line, our research group proposed an immunosensor for detecting the antibody anti-apyrase of S. mansoni based on rigid composite materials, containing graphite powder and epoxy resins, A surface modification strategy for the use of oxidized graphite in the detection of antibodyantigen interaction was developed. This modification strategy is based on silanization of a conductive composite (Bojorge et al, 2007).…”
