perceived by different panels of raters using visual analog scale scores; therefore, the lateral view was the most appropriate. 2 The lower anterior facial height plays an important role in determining whether a subject would be considered to have a dolicofacial or brachyfacial face type. Our article discussed how different raters might perceive the overall esthetics of various lower anterior facial heights. Therefore, the need to specifically discuss facial patterns was unnecessary. In our study, we included all the raters regardless of whether they were able to differentiate between different modifications or not. The knowledge of inclinations and facial heights for the raters is irrelevant. The overall perception of the resulting esthetics is to be rated, and knowing the actual values may introduce bias. The randomization of the images as they appeared to the raters was done to prevent bias. There is no other information about the subject that needed disclosure to the raters for this study; therefore, no other information was disclosed.
