Aerobic exercises alleviate symptoms of fatigue related to inflammatory cytokines in obese patients with type 2 diabetes.

Abstract: Background: Non-insulin dependent diabetic patients frequently suffer from fatigue symptoms that result from chronic systemic inflammation. Aerobic exercise was proved to modulate systemic inflammation. Objective: This study was an attempt to measure the impact of aerobic exercises on fatigue symptoms related to systemic inflammation in obese patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: Eighty obese patients with type 2 diabetes participated in the present study, their age ranged from 40-58 years and their BMI rang… Show more

“…Similar research has never been conducted in China, sot no comparison may presently be made in the same population. Although the current study lacks without control groups of patients suffering from other diseases, the scores above are at a medium-high level with regard to related researches carried out among other clinical populations [ 53 56 ]. PSS had a significantly negative association with fatigue, accounting for almost half of the variance concerning its predicting role, indicating that less severity of fatigue might be experienced among RA patients when acquiring more positive assistance from others.…”

“…Thus, more research is needed to investigate fatigue and related factors among patients with T2D. Several programs have been shown to alleviate fatigue symptoms among patients with T2D, such as aerobic exercise, dietary intervention, and lifestyle intervention (Abd El-Kader et al, 2015; Brinkworth et al, 2016; Vadstrup et al, 2011). Nonetheless, few have reported the results on related health outcomes (e.g., A1C).…”

“…The interest of these studies is increasingly focused on determining the most adequate training to reduce the inflammatory state and its effects on metabolic syndrome in people with obesity. There is scientific evidence that aerobic training improves the levels of proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-8) in people with obesity and type 2 diabetes [ 26 ]. In fact, aerobic or cardiorespiratory exercise programs are the most frequently implemented [ 27 ].…”
